The event was a support to the resolution of United Nations to mark first week of February as World Interfaith Harmony week. The aim of the conclave was to foster and promote the spirit of communal harmony, national integration and patriotism among citizens. The event was attended by religious leaders, political and business intelligentsia from various faiths.

Edgard D Kagan, US Consul General in Mumbai, extended his support to the event as the guest of honour and keynote speaker. In his note he emphasised on importance of loving neighbors by giving references of various religious scriptures.

The other highlights of the event were the distribution of harmony plant in the event reminding people of importance of environment and their service to mankind without discrimination. The concept of making friends from other faiths and pledge to work for interfaith harmony was a novel way to instill the feelings of belonging.
